The world's cops target pedophiles


Be warned. The long arm of the law is getting longer.

Thank the fast moving digital world for that.

It's affecting everything from how we communicate to the tracking of alleged criminal activities across international borders.

Witness Monday's arrest of Professor Benjamin Levin in Toronto.

The 61-year-old is charged with two counts of child pornography distribution, and one count each of the making of child porn, counselling to commit an indictable offence and arrangement of a sexual offence against a child under 16.

This follows an international, multi-jurisdictional investigation sparked by police concerns in New Zealand that were shared 13,000 kilometres away in Canada.

An undercover New Zealand Department of Internal Affairs' (DIA) investigator has been revealed as playing a significant role in the initial investigation.  (more...)
