Alberta MLA resigns following prostitution sting in US

EDMONTON -- Mike Allen -- a now former Tory MLA for Fort McMurray-Wood Buffalo -- resigned from caucus Tuesday after being arrested by Minnesota cops conducting an undercover prostitution sting.

The 51-year-old elected official was one of 13 men arrested Monday night by undercover officers with the St. Paul Police Department's Human Trafficking Unit, police spokesman Howie Padilla said.

"The information I have regarding the investigation is Mr. Allen agreed to engage in sexual activity with two undercover officers in exchange for cash," Padilla said.  (more...)
